how many of you have an airgun you hunt with??

I have a CZ 200S in 22 that I'm going to use for squirrels this year. I don't have chronograph so I don't know the actual speed but factory it's supposed to be 800fps. It will shoot into a quarter at 40yds from a bench. TC

friend of mine has a benjamin air rifle inn .22. the one with the air "tank" under the barrel.
He doesn't hunt per say but a lot of pigeons and crows have gone away with it.

I’ve used a Pp700sa to dispatch a couple of close range magpies, it shoots a 14.3 grn .22 at about 480 fps
I’m hoping to use my air arms s410 tdr fac for pigeons, magpies and other small critters, it does around 800 fps with 18.13 grn in .22
I’ve got to mod my marauder, it could shoot a .25 cal 27.8 grn 900 fps

I use my FX Streamline for small game hunting. It shoots a 16gr .22 pellet at 910 fps. It has taken rabbits, starlings, pigeons, etc. Plenty of wallop for any of those critters.

Have shot airguns for years and really got into pesting.

Will only use .25 due to the need for humane kills.

I use lighter .25 JSB pellets these little guys are only 26 grains, but fly straight out to 150 yards, then move up to Eun Jin 43 grainers for closer work, and adjust my power to shoot at 960 fps. Found most PCPs cannot muster enough power or cycle the longer pellets. Also don't like the crappy 1 year warranty of expensive airguns and decided on Airforce and their lifetime warranty. Only ever had the odd tank seal go over 12 years, but I just call Airforce get the seals sent here when needed.

Longest witnessed and lasered gopher kill was 144 yards with another club member. The farmer was in complete disbelief what a .25 can do!

My old girl: This is the smaller stock tank, also have a 800cc tank for field work.

Some like wood stocks, I shoot in rain and snow, and throw it behind my seat when driving the fields, no safe queen love, it's just another tool for me.

150 yards plywood hits with JSBs, .177 and .22 really pale after 50 yards on pests .25s are the right balance.

Still got tossed around in the wind!

25 yards with bipod, JSBs do best in my custom Lothar Polygonal barrel:

RWS Magnum 350 .177.

Grouse are predominantly what I use that for close to the truck during mid day during elk season, but also shot a coyote with it in my yard when I was plinking magpies that were getting too close to a deer I had hanging and he strolled past at 30-odd yards. First one was a double lung and when he stopping spinning in a circle I put one into his skull above his eye for luck.
The blood blowing from his nose would indicate that he wasn't going to be very healthy for very long regardless.

Also kill a fair number of ravens around my chicken coop with it from the house, which is about a 65 yard poke.

I've got a .22 cal 350 magnum that's taken a bunch of squirrels and a groundhog at 20 yards. It does about 830 with Crosman 14.3 grain pellets.
I Picked up a .22 cal Benjamin Jim Shockey Legacy nitro piston from a local buy and sell for $100.00 with scope, that I modded to do 780 fps with 14.3 grain Crosman pellets. It too has taken a number of squirrels. I like it because it's light and has the adjustable cheek rest.

As a kid, everything fell to some form of .22 cal airgun. Now, I mostly shoot varmints with some kind of .17 rimfire, but bring out the airguns for stuff in the yard when I am concerned about shots traveling. I've got an HW100T in .22 that I like when minute of gopher eye is required. Also have an Evanix Rainstorm in 9mm when I need a big hole on larger stuff like feral toms that beat up/rape my 9 cats, or skunks and raccoons. The .22 is 820 fps with 21.14gr and the 9mm is 800 fps with 81gr. The .22 shoot .5-.75" at 50 in dead calm, the 9mm is .75-1".

Since I can't legally shoot firearms around my property, my PCP airguns do "pesting" duty.

I have 3 PCP airguns (well, one is technically the wife's), and they all take turns taking out some of the pests around here. Main prey is pack rats and rock squirrels. We have a .177 CZ S200, a .22 Taipan Veteran Long, and a .25 Brocock Bantam. The .177 and the .25 are the main pest rigs. The .177 is incredibly quiet with the DonnyFl Koi moderator, and is really fun to shoot. The .25 is the other main pesting rig, compact as it's a semi-bullpup, I just need to be extra vigilant when I'm shooting the .25 25 grain pellet at ~750 fps.

The .22 Taipan see's the least amount of pesting, it's my long range target rig. It's ~50 FPE (though I can really dial it down with the hammer spring tension), and the stock is not the most ergonomic for offhand shooting.

Yes, a. 25 pellet has to be respected when shooting, it is like a. 22 long rimfire. Carries way further than a .177 or .22. As others have said, my .17 HMR gets the most use these days on rodents, very humane.

Great to hear of your success with the 350. Just got one in .22 also and love it. It's a shooter. Looking forward to taking out sqirrels and groundhogs here too !

I use a .25 FX Crown. It’s shooting 33.95 JSB King heavies @ 880
