how many of you hunt with an SBR?

I have a 12" barrelled 10/22 thats still NR by about 1/2" for overall length. And a little badger in 17hmr which has a 16". Although I haven't gone out squirrel/rabbit hunting with either, they'd fit the bill pretty good.

I own 5 centerfire rifles with 18" barrels on them right now, built a few other ones that have been sold off over the last while. I do have quite a few rifles in the 24-26" range aswell and a few 30+

I have a mossberg 702 with a 10" barrel giving it an OAL of 27"

I hunt with everything i own, ive even taken my 17 pound long range rifle out a few times

so other than Camp Cook, nobody with TC Encore / ProHunter's with short barrels?

what kind of accuracy and range could one expect to have if they got a Mare's Leg and put a full length stock on it? you can comment on the different cartridges they come in.

Mare Legs are in handgun cartridges so your range is more limited, but 150 yards is easy enough to do with a 44 mag. I would install one of the no drill rails on it and put some sort of optic, a red dot or maybe a small scope.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of a Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel. While the barrel is 22" it's still a fairly compact package, very low recoil and good for deer to 400 yards and should kill a moose just fine at closer ranges.

what about black bear?

and you're right about the pistol caliber's in the Mare's Leg...I was thinking they had the .45-70 too, but those are actually the 16" models.
