Well its 6 am, got my gear at the door, fed the baby and got her back to sleep and guess what? Moma bear standing in the porch caught me on the way out! Man i felt like i was in highschool again sneaking out for the night! lol. WTF is wrong with women. Anyhow just wondering if others had the same issue with there wife,gf ect?

join the club buddy,no matter how quiet you one of the kids busts you.and then you have to hear about all the other stuff you could be doing around the house instead of hunting.

Its never happened to me, mine functions very well all by herself. She even comes hunting on the odd occassion.

I get more slack for traveling for work and even that is nothing.

I don't think I would be able to handle that very well. My wife is my fishing partner, my shooting range partner and soon to be hunting partner. She is taking her courses over the winter. I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Sorry about your luck.

Mine doesn't necessarily dislike when i go hunting AT THE TIME....but I hear about it days, or even weeks after. "Must be nice to go out and do things..." Prfft..... She doesn't eat game meat either, so it's a lose/lose.

Guess I'm lucky my wife is helping me pack for my 8 day moose hunt trip, she even washed my 4-wheeler yesterday :)

Stop bragging , there are none like that ... ;)

My wife would almost do that ... I mean she'd tell me where the pail was...might even throw it t...at me :p

Seriously never had a problem except she hates to see me go because she doesn't like to sleep alone....but then neither do I !

I guess you get what you settled for.

If hunting is a source of conflict in your marriage, you married the wrong woman. Why did you do that? I really feel sorry for anyone (husband or wife) who sees their partner as someone who makes them feel "like i was in highschool again sneaking out for the night".

My wife doesn't hunt, but she knew I hunted long before we got married. She accepts and understands that is one of the activities we just don't share. She does help with the cutting and wrapping, and making sausage. She loves bowling. I don't. But neither of us has to worry about getting "caught on the way out".

It really does sound like an adolescent relationship. Maybe you really need to sit down like two adults and work this out (and likely some other power and respect issues). It is NOT how good marriages deal with a hunting hobby.

That is exactly where I am and it gets no better after 34 years and the kids are gone. A gun arrives and all I hear is it must be nice as I lay two boxes next to it one with a 180.00 pair of shoes in it for her and god knows what she has in the other one.

You need to put a stop to this nonsense.

My wife has gone hunting with me before and took the firearms safety and hunter safety course last summer. Gonna try and get her out for some hunting this fall. Tought to do when you have little kids though. For the most part though, she has her hobbies, I have mine.

Just the opposite. Forty-four years married, and still hunt together every Fall. Often go for Spring bear as well. :)

Started shooting 22s when we were dating. Gave her a Little SAKO L46 in 222 and began hunting woodchucks before we were engaged. Had a 7X57 built for her second year we were married.

Sorry, your situation is so different.
Ted
