As for challenging,well,how's your cam and concealment and your non electronic range estimation?

could do that too, I guess, although we'd have to jump over the fence below me first, to be out of the cities control. Not sure if my neighbour is cool with that though.
 
I think the place this event was held at would determine its success. And, if kept small and somewhat 'under the radar' it'd have a greater chance of avoiding interference. I'm sure there's someone with a hunk of private land somewhere.

How 'big' are you thinking, LS?
 
Doesn't have to be that big OG.If the distance isn't there you just make the stages more challenging.I have a line on a place in Kamloops, but might need a backup.It would be nice to be able to do a little nav,stalking and shooting at anywhere from 500m-1000m,but I would be happy with less if the area was right.
 
Yeah thinking about it, I'm definately in. I know I wouldn't do all too well with the shooting aspect, but I'd like to see how I do when it comes to stalking, nav, concealment, etc.

There is a great story in the last issue of Combat Arms about a sniper match in Finland that civilian as well as military shooters can attend annually. It involves infiltration to locate targets and you are scored on getting in and out as well as your shooting skills out to 1,000 Meters ! IT looks Cool!
 
Yeah that sounds wicked! practice up and make the trip to Finland! that would be a wild experience.

can you imagine a granola eatin' hippie lieberal wondering into a campsite full of guys wearing different degrees of kit, rifles and ammo all over, ghillies suit hanging.

30 min after they run away, the ERT will be dropping in from all over LOL.
 
Actually the area Wayne is talking about has military training in it quite frequently.It's crown land and all our guns would be non restricted anyways.But yeah.Rather not have some stupid hippies walking around...not to mention the fact that the area is covered in very small sharp cactus the make a stalk a nasty piece of work. :)

wouyld that not classify it as chalenging an operators skill in sound surpression while on a stalk in to FFP :D
