How many rounds do you carry while hunting?

I use an 8 round plastic cartridge carrier in my pocket that I load my rifle with and keep the other three handy in the pocket. Then I have a belt that I always wear that has a 10 round cartridge carrier, knife, compass , flashlight and fire starting kit.

Normally only use 1-2 if I see a deer, BUT I usually pack 15 -20 . One time in my life I had two 5 round clips loaded
when I saw 5 deer @ 200 to 250 yds. The 1st shot killed 1 but got the other 4 moving. I used both mags to kill all 5 deer.
Party hunting allows this in Ontario. Now I still carry 2 loaded mags.

9 rounds in my mag plus rest of box an extra box vacume sealed in my pack also 2 extra boxes sealed in my truck 45-70 . always carry extra as there are other 45-70s in our group when were gone for 2 weeks. last year one member went through his 2 boxes in 1 day trying to resight after his scope got banged up,turned out he bent his barrel when t his side by side rolled. this was second gun in a week that got destroyed.guy lost his presious 32 win ,fell of his gun rack and run over by another atv following behind

36 rounds total, you never know when you will run into a flock of moose. 20 rounds in an MTM box in my backpack. 4 rounds in each front pocket of my bibs and 4 rounds in each big pocket of my hunting coat. This way it doesn't matter what pocket I reach into, I am coming out with ammo. Nothing worst than reaching into your pocket for ammo and finding a Bic lighter, a chocolate bar and a Chapstick.

4 in the rifle, one in each front pocket of my pants so they won’t rattle together but quick to retrieve if needed and the rest of the box in my day pack for 20 in total. A trip that takes me a long way from anywhere warrants a second box tucked away just in case.

This. Hunting I might need 6 if I get a couple animals and a bear problem. If I break my leg in a deep ravine, I want a few to signal my location before I build a cabin and start a ranch to give me time to heal up.
I have a sling with a cartridge carrier in my single shot .35 Whelen, so I consider that 1+3 rounds "on the gun" and a half-dozen in a carrier with elastic loops in my pack. Just in case I knock the slimg-mounted rounds loose somehow.
