How many rounds do you go through per range visit?

Just curious to see what the rest of you guys go through. I shoot .22 and 9mm and if I pace myself, I average about 400 rounds split between the 2 calibres. Average stay at the range is about 2 hours. I find myself getting a bit fatigued by that time as well but I'm also still learning to shoot so I'm using a lot of muscles I probably don't need to use and sending down range more rounds than I should until I get better.

My typical weekly round count is:

100 9mm
100-200 .22 LR
24 .44 Magnum; 12 each of light and heavy loads

Depends on the event. If I'm just plinking for fun and practice then typically 50 to 100 .22's and 50'ish center fires.

But there's one monthly event, Speed Steel, where the round count for the day is up around 340 to 380. A perfect no miss day would still be 300 for this event. But we have to make up the misses. To keep the cost of ammo down I normally shoot rimfire in the morning "to wake up more gently" and something center fire in the afternoon.

Cowboy action days are 120 center fire for rifle and revolvers and around 30 shotgun rounds.

IDPA days are around 120 to 160 rounds.

I actually thought that I was shooting much more than I actually was, until I really took an inventory after three range trips.

I always shoot a variety of calibres and end up with an average of about 220 rounds per session. That was 660 rounds after three trips. I don't want to count every trip that I make.

Do not go as often as I would like but it depends on what I bring but usually.....

100-150 9mm
100-150 556
50 17hmr
50 62.x39
25-50 12GA for trap or 10 slugs

I usually take two pistols to the range. I have been shooting 100 each. But I really had no format to my shooting. I would just blast away. After some coaching, I now warm-up with a magazine each (so 20 total there). Then I'll do my precision shooting (usually 30 to 40 rounds each. Then I'll do my fun shooting (usually 30 to 40 rounds again from each gun.

So..... it looks like now that I have some structure to my shooting routine, I appear to be shooting a wee bit less.

EDIT: and if I take the rifles... that's another story.

Usually 50- 100 rds per handgun (I usually take 4), and about 100 if I shoot the ar (no matter how I try I can't get interested in rimfire). I generally either shoot handgun one week and rifle the next just because the ranges aren't together and setting up for each is a pain
