How Many Rounds For C.a.s.

Varies with the match and number of shooting stages - a good rule of thumb out west here would be ten pistol, ten rifle and four shotgun per stage, on average ... extra for any side matches you participate in.

What GrantR said.
Call someone involved in setting up the match and ask them for the round count.
Our posse is heavy on shotgun, six or more per stage, plus 10 or more each rifle and pistol.

Like the others have said, 10 pistol, 10 rifle and 4 - 8 shotgun per stage (Scenario) is pretty typical. However, you will have stages where they will ask yo to re-load your rifle or pistol "on the clock" during the stage. It is usuall a good idea to get a round count from the Match Directors prior to the match, and then bring 50 % extra for FUBARs.

I hand around with the Cold Lake Kid and enjoy match with lots of shotgun (Model 97's Rule!:) )

As above, but no one mentioned approx number of stages. Depends on club size and shoot size, average 5 at the bigger shoots, also take extra as side matches can consume about 20->50. I always get caught short on side matches. If you have a .22 single action revolver or lever there can be side matches for these, you can take for this, but a first shoot maybe wait and see. If you do not match rifle and pistol caliber, adjust for differences. Have a few $$ spare side matches help cover costs for the organizers, aprox $5/match.

As they say "Best fun you can have with your boots on"

If you shoot one of the major annual matches in BC (Mission, Kamloops, Victoria or Quesnel) you will need at least 100 revolver, 100 rifle and probably about 50 shotgun rounds. These matches are all 2 day events and consist of 10 stages. If you start out at one of the smaller fun shoots, they can be from 4-6 stages and the round count will of course reflect this. Clubs and regions have slightly different personallities, who wants all the matches to be the same, but basically all the stages use 10 handgun, 10 rifle and 2-8 shotgun rounds per stage.
Check out the website for BC CAS shooters www.wcfss.com for match dates and contacts.
