How many rounds should an SKS firing pin last?

I think Lever sells them for $20 each. The Murray's pins run around $50-60 IIRC.
Yes, mine are on the way from Lever along with a couple recoil assemblies! I don't think anyone else has any left! I am wondering if the pins are from Russian or Chinese sks, not that it matters!
The Murrays are $69.99 from Hi Cal. I believe. It would be good if someone made new good quality pins at a reasonable price! I am sure they can't make them for $20. But maybe $40-$50.!

the murray pins took $2 to make but they are worth $0. they are just way too weak.

The Murray pins had a bad batch that were too brittle, about 2 years ago. They have corrected that issue & we have had NO issues with any of the new batches. They are also guaranteed for life if you do have any problems....We stock all the Murray items, sears, spring loaded firing pins, pin kits, hammers etc...Find them HERE.

+1
The early pins were 420ss and the current pins are made with 17-4ss NOT pot metal.

So, I received my recoil springs and firing pins from lever. Two pins look ok with obvious wear and the third look pretty well used up! It is at least 1/32 shorted or more than the others with most wear on the back side( hammer) that end is badly peened, I am not sure if I can file the peened ( mushroom head) part out ( just the sides) and if it will still work,, maybe so, the recoil spring assemblies are used also, as expected but it is hard to determine how much life they have left!
