How many time you can reload the same brass cases for 308?

I neck size my 308 and it's not a max load, I don't even count anymore. If it stops holding a bullet I anneal and keep loading.

Salt bath.
You can buy a nice action and barrel for the price of an AMP :)
But the real answer is that I am not doing enough annealing to justify the cost of the amp.
You can buy also a lot of brass for 2 K also..

My method is fire, neck size 4 times, anneal and full length size, repeat. I go with that 100 brass till I have an issue. I have tossed a few due to weird stuff but none for split necks or primer pocket issues. 11th or 12th reloading. I'd have to look at the box. The weird stuff is crushed necks or big dents from too much lube. I have a box of 1000 factory Winchester brass still. I have 500 once fired 308 Winchester from a friend. Different brands require different approaches.
Her 308 has put 9 of 15 in a 2.5 inch circle at 800 yards. I did the load development and reloading using the friends brass.

And the remaining question is whether to buy bare brass or to shoot factory ammunition and recover its brass for reloading. Depending on the calibre and state of the market and how particular your shooting opportunities are about having your own formula loaded it can go either way.

Then too, with a new gun I don't want to have to use the word "reload" during any warranty claims, so by the end of break-in period that's my initial stash of about-to-be-reloaded-factory-brass for that gun.

I do the same with my case. They stay together as a lot, and when one case show sign ( usually that slight ring precursor of case head separating ) I dump them all. No need to damage a gun or worse injure myself for a few $$ of brass. And it really suck when half a case stay in the chamber and ruin your day at the range..
Low pressure caliber, such as 45-70 ,will usually show wear at the case mouth first (split ) before anything else.never had to retire one for showing the beginning of case head separation on those.

When you have primer pocket loosening, you know your load are hot.

You know they are shot when they look like this

Good picture. Now I see what exactly I'm looking for.
Thank you
