It seems every dealer, collector, anyone has a tokarev handgun for sale in the $200 price range these days.

Anyone know just how many of these are in canada?

I take it no end in sight to a supply from overseas either?

Seems one of the few guns where prices and availability have remained unchanged since I first got a PAL.

Also, i'm guessing that dealers can still buy these in quantity from distributors at significant discount when buying in bulk?

If I wanted to buy 20 of these to put away into long term storage in my personal collection, what sort of price per unit might I be able to get? Seems if everyone is selling them at $199, the dealers can't be paying much more than $120 - $140 each themselves?

Worth doing right now? Anyone else buying up bulk stocks of these for personal collections?

They won't be around cheap forever. Vast quantities are being destroyed in Russia, sent to the smelters after being shredded. This is in keeping with the totally-disarmed new world being fostered by the UN.

Interesting thing about this idea is that the biggest, toughest kid on the block doesn't NEED a weapon because he has size and strength going for him already.

Anyone read "Camp of the Saints" when they were a kid?

It`s happening right now.
.

Anyone know where my best source for 20 might be? Obviously looking to pay almost dealer prices at that unit count, not $199 per.

$180 with two mags and holster at Lever. Apparently there is a container of ammo coming as well that should be in the $200 range for a crate of 2000.

I'm allocating a significant portion of my lunch money to a few of those...

I'm only aware of one source online for 7.62x25mm (posted in the Dealer section). With tax/shipping it works out to just under $1 per. Definitely not cheap ammo, IMO.

R/C K98's, Swiss K31s, Yugo 8mm, GP11...Just a few things that retailers have run out of in the last year. A lot of empty warehouses now, and they're aren't being refilled with stuff we'll ever get our hands on.

Sooner or later even Marstar's apparently bottomless supply of M48 BO rifles will run out.

You just need to start calling. It's amazing how easy most of these dealers are to work with - But 20 units or 100, don't expect to get them for a hundred bucks.

Also, anyone know if dealers get these in original wood storage/packing crates?

If so, how many are packed/stored to a crate? Might be nice to just buy an entire crate of them for long term collection storage if possible.

What years were the TT-33 made between? Anyone own one from each year? Seems do-able at the price they are currently selling for.

These were reputed to have been issued as part of the on-board equipment/checklist for the Russian T54/T55 tanks, and were apparently stowed under the driver's seat. I checked a few knocked out Syrian tanks when I was stationed on the Golan Heights back in the late '70s, but did'nt find one. I guess some other gunnut beat me to it.;)

I have read on several posts members trying to find 7.62x25 ammo. Possibly more around these days?

Little secret: 7.63 mauser is perfect for tokarevs. Even though it is 7.63 and not 7.62 the difference in the name only and not in the actual dimensions (there are quite a few rounds which have numerical names which are slightly different from actual dimensions) But the biggest plus is that 7.63 mauser ammo is loaded slightly cooler than CZ ammo, which is the proper loading for TT. Sellier & Bellot is around 1650ft/s and Mauser is 1425ft/s.
Canadaammo sell them http://www.canadaammo.com/product.php?productid=201&cat=1&page=1
and over 100 dollars shipping is free. I love free shipping :)

I think pretty soon they will be VERY expensive. People think that there are tons of them, but in reality there are not many SOVIET TTs were manufactured and there are even fewer of them in good condition. In the States a TT in pristine condition goes for 800 bucks!!!!! Once they gone they are gone forever. it is a piece of history this is why people are buying them up. Obviously get Soviet made. Apparently the refurbished TT are no longer available, the ones dealers get now are in pristine conditions. One dealer said that it tells him that Russian arsenal is selling of the best ones and therefore near the end. I bought my batch for 175 shipping included but + taxes and they all hand picked, because you want them in a very good condition.
