How many virgins must I sacrifice?

The one thing I see with this Secter DR that might not be good is 'external adjustment' ? how does this work? You adjust the frame?

My guess is that the base is moved for elevation adjustment (BDC) as is SOP for other Elcan scopes.

Electronic optics? I see a few other scopes using what amounts to digi camera tech in a scope.

Are we about to have a quantum change in rifle optics?

My guess is WAAAAY more than $1500.

But what the hell do I know?
Not that far off I had the opportunity to handle the Specter DR scope @ Shot Show I was impressed with the overall quality it is easy to use there is no more BDC cam adjustment like the Elcan C79 sights have .The reticule comes with a standard etched BDC reticule like the ACOG which is only viewable in 4x the red dot is viewable in both the 1x and 4x all you you do is make your standard adjustment for your 100m zero and you are good to go the reticules come in 2 packages I was told that there is a Navy version that has the BDC reticule out to 800m while the standard reticule is out 600m suggested retail prices is around $1500.00 but given the fact that it offers better optical quality and superior field of view than the ACOG it is worth looking at :)

whats the point if it is over 1500 that is a bit pricy dont you all think is there some thing that makes it stand out over the other scopes...

well an eotech is ~$350, aimpoint is ~$300, trijicon ~$1200. i think the price is pretty much on par. the few reviews i've read they authors say they like it the best. so if you buy a trijicon and an aimpoint, $1500, but you have two sights. sh!t that is NOT made in the peoples republic are always better and more expensive. you get what you pay for. this product is also aimed for the person using it for their own life, not to stab paper.

Ive had a couple of friends of mine use them in some international competitions such as Bisley and they said it was one of the best things ever to sit on a 5.56 platform! Which is saying a lot for these guys cause you know how in the military theres always SOMETHING wrong with everything :p

No its not combat proven yet but give it some time... and quite a bit... and im pretty sure the bugs will be worked out and an even better version will be shot down the pipe

Huge,

I beg to differ....the CF team has not used the Spectre DR in Bisley.

There was one there with this year's team, but it was a personally owned optic belonging to one of the shooters.

I heard from 3rd party, IIRC with an issue of the point of aim not tracking properly when changing magnification. I too like the possibilities of this optic but not sure anymore due to that issue.
