How much ammo do you guys go through in one sitting? The most i have ever done was at my uncles farm.. i think i just went through a brick of 500 with a single shot .22cal bolt action. Good times!

On the average I will try to get out once a week and unload about 250-500 rounds, practice, practice, practice keep those skills up.
I usually take three different rifles with me so that when it's time to clean one I can use the others while waiting on the one that's being cleaned.

I can't remember me going through more than 150 either. If I am in a harry it still takes a few (5-6 times) breaths before I can meditate another shot. Those few breaths are some 25-30 seconds, plus shot itself 5-10 seconds, say 2 shots a minute materialize in 120 shots an hour. Thats theoretically, usually far less than that. Anything more than that would be rapid-fire or extremely long sessions which I found being counter productive if one works on his scores.

I shoot a lot of Rimfire in some sittings, but rarely more than 100 rounds of centerfire in a single go. I will usuually tote 4-5 rifles to the range and shoot them alternately so as not to heat them up. Rimfire is not a heat builder, so 3-400 rounds in an afternoon is OK, again, I will shoot more than 1 rifle for such a go. Regards, Eagleye.

I usually take 5-6 guns to the range. It's about a 40 min. trip each way so I try to make the trip worthwhile.
If I end up shooting the spinners, it's not uncommon to shoot off a brick of bulk.
If I have new guns, it takes more ammo to test their likes and dislikes.
If it's just paper, 200-300 rounds is the usual.

When shoot my 22 it is usually about 400-500 rds. When it my Ar 0r CZ it is usually about 400-600 rds and with my 45 it is usually around 200-300 rds.

im in the same boat so i also take a half dozen guns or so and 300-600 not that much of a streach. an yes a quite a few are rapid fire just because i never get tired of that.....but its nice to do some nice paper shots as well

I'm usually out with my kids when I have the 10/22. All I do is load and set up targets. Usually a 1000 rounds and as much as 1800 in one day when I had a buddy's loader.

I guess it depends on what kind of day I have planned. If it's a .22 plinker day then I can go through a Wal-Mart box or two of 550 in a short time in a 10-22 with a few 25 round mags.

Slower target work means a bit less ammo but in the summer here dawn till dusk means about 18 hours of sunlight so you could end up with quite a tally at day's end!

Whatever the style of shooting, it's all good. :dancingbanana:
