how much antler growth now until November

So I went for a walk the other day at an undisclosed location, and I spooked a buck up from his bedding area(guessing). I only saw him for a split second before he lit the afterburners through the bush. In my minds eye, I recall 3 or 4 points per side but I honestly don't remember seeing velvet.

Seeing as there's still a couple months until season opener, what kind of body growth could be expected in the mean time?? How much might the antlers grow in this time?? My google is strong, yet left me more confused.....any thoughts appreciated.

Most deer antler growth is finished by now. Bucks will begin scrubbing the velvet off soon. It will vary from area to area.

Thanks. That's the bottom line I was looking for. While it was bigger than the buck I cut my teeth on last year, I was hoping to get more of a coat rack this year.

With this cold weather, bucks should be shedding velvet within the next couple weeks. Growing is usually done by mid august from what I've heard.

Antler development has finished...They're not getting any bigger than they are right now. Shedding to start soon.

Body growth?...well that depends on the quality and abundance of available food.
He should be able to pack on a few pounds before the 1st phase of the rut begins.

I've found in my area they they are shedding velvet around the 1st week of September. It's going to be nice to start seeing some rubs soon

Dropshrink is a serious problem affecting many deer in my area. I have seen it first hand many a time.

Antler growth would be done by now, and certainly done once the velvet is gone. Body growth is probably very close to maximum for the year, with maby a few more pounds possible over the next few months.

I was in Saskatchewan two weeks ago, and saw the biggest deer and elk of my life, the mulie was probably 220" plus, and the elk I think was a game farm elk, but still it had antlers growing every where! The location will remain un-named, but it was "somewhere" in Saskatchewan.
