just curios as to what a MINT condition ACOG TA01-NSN with the original box and manuals and the lense pen is worth now adays wtih the whole thing about them not being able to be imported into the country anymore or somethign awhile ago...
I bought my TA01NSN about 3 years ago and paid about $1200 for it. It's worth every cent. I want to be able to make precise shots and don't want a sight which has a large and therefore not particularly accurate sighting system.
I know the donut, triangle and other sighting systems are all currently the more popular models but if you want accuracy then crosshairs or a chevron are probably going to be more accurate. The crosshairs on the TA01 series of scopes don't illuminate during the day and remain black until low light conditions or darkness. If you are going to shoot service rifle matches seeing your black cross hairs on a black target is more difficult that seeing the red triangle on a black target.
I have no trouble using my m-4 type of setup and shooting prone to hit an 8x11 piece of paper almost everytime with my TAO1NSN. I really like and suggest the TA01 but if you're just going to shoot at 100 M or closer, I would probably go for another model that uses the chevron, triangle, donut or maybe even an aimpoint. It's worth the money but you need to match your ACOG selection that suites your shooting needs.
