Just bought a savage 93 btvss and it shoots quite well; cover 1/4 inch at 25 yards. I heard the CZ's shoot really good as well. How much better is an anschutz?

How good can YOU shoot? I have a 64 series target and a 64 sporter Anschutz, they both shoot well. I also have 2 CZ's and a couple of Brownings. Be hard pressed to choose the best. The action is smoother on the Annie, the CZ's are still new with very low round count, but my target results are very similar. I shoot to the best of my ability, not seroius benchrest by any stretch. If you were in Regina I'd let you shoot mine to get a first hand go at them. I sold an extra Annie to purchase a CZ 452 Varmint Thumbhole. So many good reports on CZ that I wanted to try one out myself. Shortly after I also bought a 455 FS. They all shoot better that me. YMMV

There are many sporting arms available that shoot well. There are enough threads on this forum as well extolling the virtues of many long out of production rimfires. To get a combination of fit and finish, smoothness of operation, accuracy and exclusivity there are few that match Anschutz. It is very difficult to find a production rifle that matches a 1700 or 54 series sporter. There are reasons that Anschutz uses "Die Meistermacher" as their slogan.

Shot eley so far and it has been good. It does stink though. CCI subsonic shoot pretty good for half the cost of the eley. I have some lapua on the way, so I'll see how that shoots. I guess I am asking what is the 'golden group' that a rifle should shoot; especially if you spend anschutz kind of money on it? I have a group of targets where the center circle is red. I can fill the center circle better with the eley than the cci subsonic, but by a fraction of an inch better. How does an anschutz do at 25? at 50? at 100?

Move out to 50 yards and see what it does. My Anschutz 1907R easily averages under 1/4" for five shots at 50 yards with SK Standard Plus.

i have a savage fvsr that i shoot f class with against tr type guns and it will shoot 99-97s using match ammo from lapua i just resently added a muzzel break (for looks) and a btvs thumbhole stock and will be getting a rifle basics trigger and bedding the action, it will put 5 rounds in one hole at 20m only done it once but it will do it.
