How much compression

I, too, have found my best accuracy at, or slightly above max published stuff. I used to chase velocity for long distance shooting out to 600+/- yards, compressing loads, using drop tubes, 10 different powders, etc., only to realize it didn't matter. I hunt. That's it. Animal can't feel 100fps difference. So I dropped back to 400yd max range and every round "shakes" when I am done, but, they are still close to max, one side or the other.
 
According to Vihtavuori, the only compressed(a full case isn't the same thing) .308 N150 load is with a 150 grain bullet. Max is 48.4 grains. You're fine. Compressed loads given in a manual are nothing to worry about.

Above max loads are unsafe.
