This is a kind of dumb question. Of all my firearms, the SKS are the least in value. Having that said, I shoot, clean and store them all the same. I have a Mod 70 Winchester that I got new over 30 years ago, it still looks new even after using it every season for hunting since.

I shoot 'em, strip 'em, and clean 'em then its back in the locker until the next trip. For me its no more to it than that. Cheers.
