How much does 1000 223 Win weigh?

Trying to get an idea if it's worth counting and selling buy the 1000 or just leave them in a bucket and sell it to the scrapper.
All once fired Winchester with a crimp.

Simplist way to find out----weigh a 100 and multiply by 10

Considering there are board sponsors who sell 1xf 223 brass for $35/1000 and 'dirty' brass (which is what they call it at the scrapper) is only worth $.50/lb, I would say Mike K. has it right.....

Weigh 100, multiply by 10, if that is less than 70 its worth more in the EE than at the scrapper.......

I haven't seen $35/1000 since I bought 2000 about 4 or 5 years ago.

Going rate is about $10/100 and some give a slight break if you buy 1000 lot.

Or you can do what I do, pick the empties up at your local range one day and be set for a long time...

I got some in January for $35/K........

SFRC has it for that price, or they did anyway.

Put the bucket on your bathroom scale. You won't get much from a scrap dealer.

Im guessing 223 remington - Winchester brass. Likely the stuff that the Police shoots at the range. They leave tons of it behind when they use the range.

1 lb = 7000 gr ... assume your cases are about 95 gr per case ... 1000 cases should be around 13.5 lbs.

Weigh one on your reloading scale and divide by 7 to give you the weight of 1000 in pounds.

it is 223 winchester once fired brass.
I have some that's black so I'll just scrap it all.

Throw it in a tumbler and it should come out clean and shiny.
