How much does a M70 EW Bell and Carlson stock weigh?…wsm

Has anyone ever weighed a stock Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather Bell and Carlson synthetic stock by itself?

Just curious if there's much of an advantage to change out to a McMillan for some weight savings…..

This will be for a 270 wsm…...

I've been contacted and informed they weigh in around 28oz…. McMillian lists the UL stock between 22-26oz
My EW weighs in at 8 lb 10oz Scoped…

To really save weight i would have to get a lighter scope as well….. This could get expensive for a potential weight savings of 10-14oz!

Not worth the cash for that little weight loss. Every time I think mine is to heavy I just pick up my 14lbs heavy barrelled 260 and remember how much I hated lugging that around the bush!

I just weighed my Win M70 EW WSM stock, on my Postal Scale it is 30oz. The entire rifle with Talley Lightweight low rings and a Leupold VX-3 1.75x6 scope is 7lbs 14oz. I find any complete rifle under 8 lbs to be handy enough in the field. Good Luck and Merry Christmas, WK

Is that without the stock on? I have had good reasults with 130 Partitions over RL 22, also just bought a box of 160 Partitions to see how they shoot.

Hi, the weight of 6lbs 13oz is for the complete factory Win M70 EW rifle in 270 WSM (barrelled action, bolt, bottom metal and stock).

I have also found RL 22 powder to be good, but am shooting 140gr Hornady spire point boattails. WK

My factory Rem 700 mountain rifle stock is a B&C with an aluminium bedding block. It looks slimmer than the EW B&C stock but maybe not. It weighs 32 oz.

A wildcat composites with light fill is 18 oz. A savings of 14 ounces is considerable and I may get one for my 700.

Interesting…. thanks for the lead on a lighter stock.

6 lbs13oz is not to bad at all. Mine feels a bit heavier but that maybe my scope.
