How Much Hunter Orange is okay

Just to update, I bought myself an orange vest from walmart for about 7 bucks and just placed it over my camo orange coat, that made my outfit legal... Didn't get a deer though, maybe next year and yes I would defineately want everyone to wear hunter orange especially around here.....Safety first deer second....

So with 400 Sq. inches of blaze orange, and an orange hat, you guys must have absolutley no hunting accidents.

And gee whiz I wonder, (rather out loud) how does it compare to Alberta, where the law makers deemed clothing requirements an infringement on your rights.;)

In Alberta there are more non hunters in the bush than there are hunters. There is NO law requiring non hunters to wear any colour while in rural areas. The bottom line is that you identify your target and the flight path of the bullet till it stops with binoculars before you pull the trigger.
Folks just don't shoot at a patch of brown and hope it is a legal animal.
It seems that hunter orange does not make much of a difference in the accident rate if any difference at all.

Sask has changed the colour requirements. Now it is from waist up not a full suit of red, yellow. white or orange, with the cap other than white.

I for one do not mind the colour rules as it is nice to easily spot other hunters in the area. Knowing someone else is in the area makes one even more conscious of the need to be sure there is no one else in the general direction of fire.
As for scaring game away i see no real difference in the animals behavior when hunting in camo durring muzzle loader season compared to dressing in colours with a centre fire rifle.

As someone else posted above movement seems the big give away as far as animals are concerned.

Lately I have taken to wearing some red or orange while bird hunting with others. I like to know where my fellow hunters are for a number of reasons , safety being only one.

I am glad that Sask relaxed it's regs that we only need to wear colours on top and not the full suit now. But you still need to have a complete jacket or top with sleeves, vest alone is a no-go and orange cammo is also forbidden. Although a nice blaze orange jacket can be so hard to find. Needed a new one and went to Swift last weekend, the selections are abysmal. Red, yellow or white were even harder to find unless you want a hoodie (aka bunny hug for the Sask folks).
