Just trying to see if their would be any interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1 rifle? I thought about it & would like to see one. Lipseys limited edition's are out and I'm not sure of the stock run required to have one produced. But if given the chance I would purchase one in an 'A' or RSI configuration in Canadian Maple of course & in say .303 British. Maybe custom serial numbers?
What do you guys figure & what would you like to see?

I dont think Ruger is taking any more special runs (too backed up) however, I like the idea. A normal light sporter in 303 british - no wood changes or other "special" markings.

The caliber & wood choices were just my pipe dream. Seeing how it was going to be 'Canadian' I thought this might best reflect a limited edition here. But pick away your at your own personal choices. I'm interested to see the majority's idea of what a rifle like this should be...

A medium sporter or RSI in 303 would be very cool.

You can keep the maple stock though, I'll take mine in walnut.

Just to add, a 77RSI in 303 would also be very appealing.

Nah... Too common. I like the round, a lot. But nay! Same with the 30-06 & 270... If you said something like "257 Roberts" or "300 H&H" (which is out this year), I'd be with ya....:p:D

Back in the late eighties, when I owned a pharmacy with a firearms license, I wanted smething to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the .303 British cartridge.
I wrote to Ruger asking if they would do a run of their No 3 rifles in .303B. They wrote back to say that they weren't interested. Well, I tried.
I later found out that, at that time, noone in the US made a .303 barrel and Ruger wasn't making its own barrels.
At this time, I have a .303 blank and No 1 rifle sitting patiently at my 'smiths waiting for the union to happen. I also have a NIB Redfield Palma sight looking for a good home.
Patience, grasshopper, patience.
