How much interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1?

We've actually taken this to Ruger before with the idea of getting a special run made for us similiar to some of the big US distributors. Her's the problem: firstly, you ask what people want and everybody's ideal is slightly different-you've seen it on this thread already. One wants stainless, another the RSI, another wants a 308 bore, etc. Secondly, is the big one; Ruger will start talking to us when we place an order for 250 identical rifles. That's a lot of idendtical rifles to sell, especially if you are looking at just in Canada. We looked at a run of 250 and thought of bringing perhaps 50-75 into Canada. That makes it tough with the 303, its a much harder sell in the US although it is well known there too.

Just one question: In a hypothetical scenario; if you could get 250 deposits from dealers & gunnutz alike, do you have any idea what the retail price would have to be, on say, an 'A' model in blued finish with regular wood?
A pipe dream like I mentioned before. Just trying to see how much interest there would be & how hard would it be to get a common idea for one. Maybe I should start a pole....:D

I would definitely buy a Canadian edition Number One in .303. Wouldn't matter the configuration, either A or RSI, but I would think that one of the ones with open sights would sell best. I do like the 1867-###X serial numbers, and maybe a Maple Leaf on it somewhere.

If there is really nothing different, except caliber, the retail price should be in line with any other rifle of the same model. If you start wanting custom serials, checkering, etc, the price will go up, although not all that much.
There are dozens of Lipseys' runs in a year but most are priced in line with other models and aren't that different than standard models so we often don't even know they are 'exclusives'.

I think it's a great idea ONLY if it's in an unusual (for a Ruger) caliber. 303 British would be great! If it were chambered in any of the "easy" calibers like 270 or 30/06 I think they would sell only as well, and mean only as much, as any other #1.

The No.1A with a Inglis maple leaf on the left side and the serial number idea in .303 British sounds awesome. Oh man that would be nice. A nice and appropriate leather sling to match could make the package.

I like the idea of a single-shot .303Br quite a bit.
Cost would be the deciding factor for me though.
The 1867-###xx serial numbers I like, as well the idea of some sort of a maple leaf somewhere on the receiver.
As to the wood is a maple stock feasible?

The #1 International is one I have always wanted.
Doesn't the front nosecap sort of look like the #1MkIII without the front lug for the bayonet?

Love it! Ruger #1 in 303 brit loaded with 150tsx would kill like the hammer of thor.

It seems from the 6 pages on this thread already, that there is genuine interest in a Ruger #1 in .303 British configuration. Count me in also. If Sako Alberta was to receive 250 orders for same, and I think that is certainly possible, all of us who are interested could have one. Next step?

I'd be glad to look after this, however, what seems like a lot of interest, is likely a long way from 250. Not to be a downer but 250 pre orders is a big order on approx $1200 rifles. I'd be very impressed with 50 committed let alone 250.

From a business perspective, you would need 10 people to say "great idea; I'd love one!" to get one guy to cough up a deposit. It would be financial suicide for Clay to just start getting it done. That is $300,000 in product with a very limited consumer base. It is too bad Ruger needs 250 ordered to think about it :(
