How much interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1?

tried to get a couple shops in saskatoon interested today, no luck. clay, i told you yesterday i would take two, but mark me down for three instead. (i still think a 26" barrelled sporter with a red butt pad would be nice. maybe talk ruger into putting a red maple leaf in the grip cap instead of the ruger logo?) not sure, are you taking suggestions?

of course we are taking suggestions. :)
I think we want to keep things simple and cheap to appeal to as many as possible. Lots wanting the RSI but the 1-A/S is leading by a bit. Hopefully, whichever we get, the others will still order. Its 9:13 and we are up to 41. Not bad!

how much would it go for???
If we keep the options free(like a 'different' serial sequence) should be the same as a regular #1 around $1200. RSI a little more, 1-A a little less. Upgrades sights, maple leaf, etc, add to the $$$. However, to keep this reasonable for the most number of buyeers, we won't let the price creep up very much or we will never get 200.

You need to build it to appeal to majority - or you will never reach your goal.
Just the plain old light sporter chambered in 303 gets my vote. Nice light rifle, with the alex henry forend.... nice. If you NEED to be different get a special serial number as suggested. my $0.02

I mentioned this to a friend of mine, and he had the most FANTASTIC idea. Though perhaps a bit callous...

Have Ruger make a special run of Mini-14 rifles to commemorate the demise of the federal gun registry.

Since I'm dreaming here. An RSI with wood on top of the bbl, no rear sight and a peep on the action. Like a no.4 mk1. But in reality a red pad looks Canadian. The more I look at the RSI the more I want one. A 1A with express sights would look traditional for an old Africa gun. I might have to get two just so I can play with one. One in the safe.

I would suspect that many of the independent shops like Hunter's, Reliable, P&D, Bashaw, Epps and so forth would be interested in one or two? Perhaps not so much the BassProSaleSportsShops though.
