How much is my SKS worth?

As soon as you talk about an SKS you get all sorts of silly answers.

As it sits, if someone is looking for something like that, $250.

Some people will pass one it due to being customized, but some guys will want it.

Like the gun or not I am kinda feeling bad for this dude. New guy to the forum, only 7 posts and he get 3 pages of sarcastic ripping ? I guess that's one way to keep new guys off the forum.

Yep. I was going to say the same thing. I hope the OP doesn't feel that the majority of CGN members are as negative as what he saw here. People, have nothing good to say? ...then don't say anything.

amen to that.

as for the worth of the sks - it's worth keeping, that's what it's worth. Great gun, with or without the (ahem) shiny bits.

Like a few others have said, it's worth whatever you think it's worth.

The Russian SKSes are certainly worth a lot more than they're being retailed for. If for no other reasons than their ruggedness, simplicity and reliability.

One man's treasure is another man's junk no matter if it's in all orignal condition or if it's been altered to better suit its owner's shooting peculiarities and preferences.
