How much is too much for a varmint scope

Hard to beat Zeiss Conquest, although I have had almost every manufacturer scope made in some model, except Sightron..
 
I have been using a burris M-Tac 6.5-20x50 and the scope tracks very well very clear ,I can crank on the turrets out to 500 and turn it back to zero and it never goes off for around $700.00 bucks its great there full out tactical line for around $1500.00 is even better .

Don't believe me.... no problem. Just have a look at F Class and BR matches all around the world.

I really doubt you will find any Swaro scopes, but you will find plenty of Sightrons, NF's and Marches.

PS I may have mentioned it but the LRMOA reticle is better suited to paper. The mildot is heavier and better suited to field work.

This is ridiculous. Sightron has a nice price point for the boys here and offer good value but are you saying that the scopes sold for 1100 are used to win competitions? Swarovski, Leica and Kahles make fantastic scopes from what Ive seen compared to lesser priced models. I have a Swarovski spotting scope(85) and it is of excellent quality as are the swarovski rifle scopes. The clarity is great and the ballistic program is excellent. I dont know what Wholesale sports sell but if it is the z6 it is selling a high quality product. Disparaging your competitor that way isnt cool. Many people cant afford a Swarovski as they cant afford a Sako or a Cooper but you get what you pay for.
 
mackillan, YOU are ridiculous! I have NEVER once seen a Swarovski scope at any rifle shoot I've been to.
How many world records for shooting do they hold? Oh wait! None. I think they should stick to making
those expensive crystal figurines that my wife seems to like so much. Sometimes the truth hurts, so don't get all pissy
when someone like Jerry states the facts of the matter at hand.

You may be correct, but S&B non tactical scopes seem to be more obscure (in the USA). They're current claim to fame seems to be the PM II. Swarovski, on the other hand isn't really in the tactical arena, but ARE supposed to be top notch in the hunting department. At least in the very tiny circles I travel in...

If you mean, are $1100 SIGHTRONS used to win competitions? Then YES. I have, others I have sold to have, top shooters in Canada have, other shooters in other countries have. They work very well.

They have also been successfully used on 50BMG's to win 1000yd matches in the US. The articles are out there and you can see the pic of the Spaniard in the new Sightron catalog

Have a look in any competition mag, forum or ezine. I bet you will see Sightrons on rifles shot at large F class competitions all over the world. Right next to NF, March and in a limited basis S&B.

If you are near a WSS, go in and have a look at the Swaro scopes they are offering. These are NOT of the same quality as Swaro binos and spotters. Yes, I have looked through quite a few swaro binos/spotters at competitions and with hunters that want to come shoot LR with me. They are very good products - quirks I don't like but that doesn't diminish what they can do.

I own a Swaro laser rangefinder and love both the glass and ranging ability. I sold my Leica once I used the Swaro.

As far as I can tell, the scopes I saw in WSS were reworked Asian products. Can there be a better line up? Wouldn't surprise me in the least but the consumer grade scopes sold next to the very nice binos and spotters are not of the same class.

See for yourself.... And when I post describing a product in less then stellar wording, I don't take this lightly. The stuff I say can be backed up.

The Swarovski z6 models are top flight and compare favorably as the Hd85 spotting scope I have compared and compared and no decline in clarity
 
Swarovski scopes are state of the art in the hunting world. In case you haven't read it this thread is about varmints, the Swarovski with the ballistic plex and brh reticle is a great varmint scope. The hunting scopes compare favorably with my swar spotting scope. Very high quality glass. All of my scopes have "Made in Austria" on them. The website refers to Austrian engineering and workmanship.
