How much play is acceptable in the op rod guide?

Noticed that mine has slacked up a bit, there's about 1/16th" of movement side to side in it. If it's going to get worse and causes a problem, is there any easy methods of tightening it up?, I'd rather pick your guys' brains than go at it myself without any input beforehand.
Thanks guys.

Any movement of the op rod guide is unacceptable.

You can remove the old roll pin and install a new one (home Depot carries LOTS of different sizes).

You can also try tapping in a smaller diameter roll pin into the original roll pin. This will tighten up the guide and is the easiest fix.

if you want that guide to stay put for good, remove the old pin and slide the op rod guide off it's spot.Degrease the area where the op rod guide sits, and the inside of the op rod guide.Put some red Loc-Tite on the barrel where the guide sits and inside the guide.Re-postion the guide on the barrel and re-pin it.Make sure the op rod and gas piston/cylinder are properly aligned.

Let the guide set over night.

I have used all three methods and they all work.

thanks guys, I was actually thinking about compressing or spreading the rollpin to tighten it.

Easy fix, and I don't think it speaks against the rifles quality, of all my rifles it is my go-to bug-out rifle, I trust it more than a few of my others.
Thanks again

While we are discussing the op rod guide slop, once you've got the guide tightened up, remember to grease the insides by dabbing some grease on the op rod and racking your rifle several times.

Don't forget the bolt lugs (2 of them), bolt raceways and op rod raceways.

Enjoy the addiction.

Fixed it, expanded the roll-pin to 1 1/2 times normal diameter for 7/8 its length and re-installed it from the small side, forced it in for a perfect fir (the pin was actually a little smaller outside diameter then the hole for most of it's length) I didn't even need the locktite but it's there anyway. There's no give anymore, thanks guys!
