I was thinking of trying one of these 9 port muzzle brakes on a Chinese SKS.

I won't be able to extend the bayonet and lock it in place with the brake installed.
Looks like I could get just a hair under 1/2" of threading on the end of the barrel. Think that should be enough to keep the brake firmly/permanantly affixed? Might be too little thread to use a castle nut, so maybe use loctite?
Another option is I could have it silver soldered onto the barrel if that is the only option.
PS. I just saw that the Yugo M59 carbines have 1" of thread on their barrel ends. Hope I can make due with 1/2".
