How much time do you spend cleaning your 858 ?

I just run my bore snake down the barrel normally. Cleans it right up. If I've fired upwards of 500 since last cleaning or if I feel like taking extra care/time, I'll run an oil patch etc. But normally, quick run through the barrel then I just clean up the gas system, make sure I keep some oil around my firing pin, and clear any debris out of the breech/chamber. I've only tossed a brush in the chamber once, never had a jam.

My brother did manage to get a round stuck in his chamber. We just took it apart so nothing could go off on us (the bolt was still hooked on, but we pulled the dust cover and springs) then sat some WD-40 on it for the evening, might have been overnight, then just draped a rag over the charging handle to save paint and tapped it back with a hammer. Came out so easy, had the bolt not been on there, I bet one tap on a rod down the barrel would have popped it. Neither would budge previous night.

Short cleaning, about 10 mins. A kettle of boiling water down the bore and gas system then 1 or 2 dry patch finishing with an lightly oily patch in the bore. For more cleaning, i use CR10 after the boiling water and dry patchs, oiling lightly the bore to finish. gas system only with water and dry patch. take 30 mins max.

about 10 minutes, if i clean it right away. (very hot water and a little soap, a good scrub with a brush and finish with a couple of dry patches and some oil.)

if i wait a day, or more, the process is lengthened considerably.

i dont do much to the internals, just soak in the hot water, and scrape the carbon off with my fingernail.

i find that i have to be a lot more diligent in the summer, because my woodstove is not going and the humidity in the basement skyrockets, so if you live in a damp climate, you might have to take more care.
