how offen to clean AR gas tube?

As I recall they do offer a "pipe cleaner" for cleaning the tube.

I bought a bunch of those at a surplus store in the US. They were bagged and tagged with what appeared to be a military part number. They are long enough to run all the way thru the tube. Once in a while I drip some carbon solvent down the tube and run a pipe cleaner back and forth a few times. It just seems like a sensible precaution to me.

YOU never ever ever ever!!! have to clean your gas tube "your barrel will be long worn out before you clog your gas tube"

If you change barrels then change your gas tube

Never. If you have a .22lr conversion kit you should run a few .223's after you finish shooting .22lrs to clean the tube.
But a dedicated .223 should never need to have the gas tube cleaned.

With the conversion kits, for every 100 rounds of .22LR you should fire 4-5 .223 rounds.
