If you want scratches, dirt and guck in your chamber, barrel, action DO NOt CLEAN YOUR BRASS.
Cleanliness is next to godliness.

I never reload without tumbling the brass. Clean brass is easier on the dies
Brass does not necessarily have to be tumbled to be clean, but whatever floats your boat is fine by me. :) 40 years of reloading has given me some idea of what is a priority to me personally and what is not. ;) Regards, Eagleye.

Yep, do it every time! Put them in the night before with some Dillon Rapid Polish. Comes out purdy! But before I had my case cleaner I would just make sure there was no sand or dirt on them. Was OK for the first few loadings but now I tumble every time. Yes, those Win Clean cases are really clean inside. What powder is that anyway?

GladdBag, do you have a tumbler yet?

Yes, I picked up the Hornady M2 over the weekend. I was going to just reload the once-fired winclean, but after so many people said I should tumble them after each firing, I bit the bullet and ponied up for a tumbler right away. Does do a hell of a job.

Tumbling

Once before sizing.
Once after to remove all lube.
RCBS Sidewinder and use the RCBS seperator then give a shot of air.
Clean primer pockets and things are good to go.

Tumble as often as you like for aesthetics as well as function... but do it out of doors. AP
