How old is my 1899 Savage

I have a 1899 savage that in fair shape, the serial number is 82 . ###, theres a small space after the 2 then the dot another small space then the last 3 numbers????

Nice to see, maybe you can help me with my Model 99 Savage .250-3000. the serial # is 72**** and i have referenced this in a few articles but i want to confirm they are accurate (just fro curiosity of course).

If you paste that link in your browser you can check out most of the 1899/99 lever guns.

FWIW, my 1899 is a 74,### and it was a 1907 mfg, so yours would be 1906 to 1907 as well I'd suspect. Check the site and see. There are some other kids here much more knowledgeable than me on the topic, post some pics and Maddog and 99Trix will be all over it.

Thanks for the quick reply and the good info. I dont care about the value (I know what its woth to me) but its cool to see some extra history on the gun. Thanks again.
 
Good to hear someone puts sentimental value before the $$$$ value. Wish my family had done the same.

savage shooters and the savage lever gun forum on 24hrcampfire are excellent sources for the technical stuff or just plain drooling as well.
