How old is my M1 carbine?

Does anyone know how to go about finding the age of my M1 carbine? Its a National Postal Meter with the flaming bomb on the barrel if that helps. Thanks

post the first part of the serial number, xx out the last 2 or 3 digits and someone will be able to tell you.
