How rare are as issued SVT-40s?

Like belly buttons try P&S Guns back east they go for $250 to $450 in price. They may even have a red one left.

Just checked they start at $195 and they only have 6 left......

How rare is it to find an as issued SVT-40? The refurbs may be nice, but I'd love to find a well seasoned as issued one. I found a few pics on the net last night, this one really makes me want another red rifle!! Rest of the pics show all numbers matching on everything, this one was pulled out of Europe in 1951 by an American Major. Gorgeous rifle.

What would something like this one be worth? Are there any as issued examples like this available in Canada?

Of all the guns in the locker, I have two that "speak" to being in combat.

One is an SA marked SVT40. The finish is well worn and the varnish flaking. It is not a pristine example, but the Russian who donated the rifle to the Finnish Army didn't do it voluntarily. He died and some wiry little guy with a long unpronounceable name took it. I think it spent the next few years aimed back at Russians and very likely was fired in anger.

The other rifle that gives me the willies is a 1945 G43. It is a double lug Mauser with the waffenampts polished off and the back sight ground down. I have a pretty thick hide when it comes to death and so-called psychic stuff. But I can't hold this rifle without feeling a cold and depressing weight. Whoever worked on this rifle was dying a slow and horrible death, or the last issue owner had a miserable last few days/hours/minutes.

They are out there. I bought one that is a Finish capture, all numbers matching with the sniper grooved reciever. I also managed to find one that was a bring back also with the sniper grooved reciever, both 100 % original. Both guns are numbers matching, one has the early muzzle break one has the later one. The most I payed was $400.00 and am extremely happy with them. Both are fantastic shooters and by far are my most favorite to shoot at the 200 yard targets with open sights. I know the ones being ordered into the country lately are being ordered with the grooved reciever which kind of taints the orginals, but it is what it is. If you don't have one, and it's a shooter, you won't be disappointed !
