How the germans cooked their bacon

I've heard of "Vickers Coffee" before. Just ground beans and water in the cooler jacket, fire away and when Jerry decides he's done for the day, pull the cork and have some Joe eh?

The brits were big on putting cans onto the manifolds to cook food and have a brew up. We used to do the same with the old duece. now the brit army has the "boiling vessel" or BV

slightly off topic, but has anyone seen a gun with a coffee grinder in the butt? Apparently during the U.S. civil war a carbine was produced with a coffee grinder in the butt. Too many guys were damaging their rifles when using the buttplate to pulverize coffee. One of the special carbines was supposed to be issued to a few soldiers in each unit.

I'd love to reproduce something like that, just for kicks!

Reminds of Vickers coffee story.
Put the water and the beans in the cooling tanks, fire away then serve.
