Finally...
As promised:
Overall obeservations so far: It feels very solid, and the ARMS throw-lever mount is a nice improvement from the previous ELCAN mounts. The 1x-to-4x feature is very cool and really goes a long way in demonstrating the virtues of magnification in your optic. Overall, it's extremely impressive, has the crystal-clear glass that Elcan is known for and essentially does the job that it would otherwise take an ACOG and an AIMPOINT to do.
Only real downside I can see right now is that the crosshairs are extremely fine, which is great for precision but semms like it would make them very difficult to pickup quickly in bright daylight, where the reticle illumination does not work. I'll have to see if that changes once I get it mounted and out into the field for some play time. I know it's intended for the M4 platform (the graduated reticle is calibrated for the M4) but I'm undecided if that's what it will get mounted to.
Please keep in mind that I am not using this on the two-way firing range. I'm just a dealer that bought one as a sales sample to test the waters, so my requirements and observations come from a different perspective than someone like KevinB's.
Just curious, what kind of prices are you seeing in Canada on these? I can't find anyone in the States with a listed price.
BTW, big thanks to Andrew at Armament Services for getting this one to me.
