How thick is your Lapua 223 Necks?

I turn my necks to 0.0122", which is about an 80% skim. My batch is a few years old now, going strong. .008" is too thin, IMO, for decent neck tension, especially if you take a thou off during turning.

Lapua outsourced the older .223 Rem brass. It was made in Vanesverken Sweden. The new brass, made by Lapua in Finland, is superior in all regartds and is referred to as .223 Rem Match. They presently do not outsource.

Peert

Jerry,

Get one of these from Sinclair.....awesome little tools for measuring neck thickness and much more accurate than a caliper. I love mine and use it often.

Using a digital caliper, depending on how hard you "squish" you can change the numbers on the caliper, with the ratchet on the micrometer pictured above, it is impossible .
