I just mixed up some marine-tex today to bed a rifle and was shocked to see how thick this stuff really was.

The epoxy part was hard and somewhat dry, it required some scraping to get it out of the can.

When I added the catalyst it seemed to moisten up a bit and get gooey but still real real thick.
Definitly need some sturdy stir sticks when mixing this stuff.

Is this how it should be???

Brambles: The epoxy resin is quite thick. Once you add the catalyst and stir well it tends to loosen up a fair bit. You might try setting the epoxy container in warm water for a while before using and see if that softens it a bit. Possibly your container was not tightly sealed as you received it and that compounded the thickness some. It is usually pretty easy to work with once mixed.
