say your load book tells u 41gn but it gets put in at 41.1 or .2

case length b4 and after the bullet is pressed in as well. Cambering issues with the gun or ? I was kinda thinking maby 2 large a pressure build up but once the projectile starts moving pressure drops anyway.

Don't get ahead of yourself, the first thing you need to do is learn a bit more about reloading, cause you are confused about the basics. Go to Hodgdons.com or buy the Lyman reloading manual and actually read it.

When a reloading manual says a load is maximum, it means it generated maximum pressure according to SAAMI specifications, in THAT test rifle. Google SAAMI.

It is possible that this same load could exceed SAAMI max pressure in a rifle with slightly different chamber and bore dimensions from the test rifle. Read the manuals and it is all explained.

You should reduce a published maximum load by about 5%, and work up to the maximum in about 1/2 gr increments, smaller as you get close to max. Some rifles will start to show signs of dangerously high pressure before the max published load is reached.

.1 or .2 isn't going to make much diff in my experience unless your at your guns critical blow up point! I actually tried some groups at the range with .1 & .2 varibles in a 22.250, couldn't see any diff in group sizes.

Case length shouldn't change just pressing in the bullet! The only time case length will affect pressure is if the brass has extended past the chamber neck. At any rate best to size all your cases & trim to min length, they SHOULD stay close to same length as they grow upon subsiquent firings till you once again get to Max COAL length.

Alcohol and Reloading is a really bad mix !!!!!!!!!

so im looking threw and see my name.... hummmm... what the. sorry boys I had typed that right b4 i passed out on friday nite.

What brought the Q up is I was reloading some 22-250 rounds from some brass i bought as factory loaded ammo and fired last week. The case length should be 1.912 so the book says and that is what I usualy use. I had 20rds of brass at 1.908 however. I kept the over all bullet size at stock with the bullet seated but it kinda made me wonder if it would have any effect or not. As well with the grains how much in . form do u think it would take to really make a difference with damage or anything?

btw - I shot 2 coyotes with yesterdays reloads to day and just missed one that was at a half mile fence. Really enjoying the 760 with 52g on that cal.
