How to apply Imperial Die Sizing Wax to cases?

You can also use a common 'lead' (actually graphite based) #2 pencil to lubricate the inside of case necks. No worry about contaminating powder, either. Never have used the Imperial product; have been very happy with the Hornady case lube that is packaged in a plastic tub. I have found a rag moistened with rubbing alcohol works best in removing lube from cases after resizing.

Somebody came up with a great idea for inside-neck lube. I wish I could remember who it was 'cause it's brilliant. Take a couple of tbsp of fine lead shot and put them into a film canister or pill bottle. Dump some powdered graphite in, put on the lid and shake. To use, simply push the cases into the shot as far as the shoulder. Works like a charm; when the cases start sticking a bit, shake the bottle again.

That is exactly how I do it.
I explained that method here on Gunnutz some time ago.

Thanks - great idea. It's faster than any other method I've tried and works like a bomb.

i found imperial wax good for resizing 30.06 to 8mm mauser but it leaves marks and dent on my .223 brass when using FL die i use lee lube never left any marks and ran smooth

I was using the same method with BBs and Lyman white powder lube. Since, I have purchased the NECO Moly neck lube kit that uses stainless shot to apply moly in the same fashion.

WRT Imperial, I use it for FL sizing 50bmg and larger as it is the only one that I have found to work well. The week casting of the single stage Ammomaster press requires Imperial on the inside of the neck shoulder junction to avoid breaking the press base casting (I have done this twice now). I only use Imperial on the big stuff as the effort to clean it off is more than I wish to invest with the volumes that I shoot.

we discussed this product a couple of years ago and some fella from Sask. was using 2 cans of this per year, not that is a lot of sizing......... FS

I'm usually good for a can a year. Part of that is due to big cases shot in generous chambers, the "less is more" thing will give stuck cases when you try to shove a balloon into a gopher hole. The rest is volume.:D

Here is another really good product from Imperial/Redding, it will last forever as you just have to add Imperial Dry Neck Lube to recharge it when required.

Imperial Application Media

The easy way to apply dry neck lube to case necks. Simply dip the cartridge case neck into the ceramic media. The media consists of high density ceramic spheres that are pre- charged with Imperial Dry Neck Lube. Can be used with all cartridge cases including 17 cal.
