For my first rifle I thought I would take a stock 10/22 and customize it over time but I just learned of these recievers and am wondering how difficult it would be for some one with no experience to put one together from scratch?

Where would be the best place to source the rest of the parts? I already have a Boyd's Blaster stock on the way but have read it can be difficult to source other parts.( bolt, trigger ect)

Does any one now of a source for a build along info on the web? I have found a couple but the info seems more geared to someone with experience at doing work on rifles.

I would buy the basic DAR 22 from Dlask, at around $550 it's a great start, plus he will have already fitted the bolt to the receiver. Rimfire was a great place to get VQ stuff, but no longer ships to Canada. I shoot mine out to 220m all the time.

The DAR22 is a really nice platform... you don't need to be overly mechanical to build one... You will need the parts, or you can buy a finished gun from Dlask... we built ours from scratch using the DAR22 receiver and Dlask 12.5" bull barrels with Schuler 1" CM brakes... our parts include Rimfire Technologies Parkerized bolts, RT Tactical charging handles, RT trigger groups, Worstmeister buffers, Boyd`s EVO stocks, BSA Contender 4-16X40mm scopes with Dura Sight Z2 QD rings;

Our currently in progress builds are DAR22 Sterling builds with custom 10" Stainless steel bull barrels coupled with 1.25" O.D SS Schuler brakes, Boyd's Barracuda black stocks, Que reworked/jewelled bolts, VQ TG2000 trigger groups, RT charging handles, Cross-Pinned receiver, Weaver 40/44 4-12X44mm AO scopes with Dura Sight Z2 QD rings.

I think I just found my next 22.:D

another place to look for parts would be Fabsports for KIDD products.

I basically have a KIDD 10/22 (2-stage trigger, bolt, charging handle & spring, and barrel). Kidd don't export their receivers, so to finish this rifle off i'll probably get a dlask receiver.

Are Dlask planning on building threaded recievers in the near future? What is the advantage of that?

None of the issues with barrel sag that we currently have with 10/22's. It would allow a true free floating barrel.

They have plans, but I don't know enough about them. I wish I knew an eta. I've got 2 builds ready to start and would love a threaded receiver to do them.

Costs was $800 with scope and bipod. I used the bolt and charging handle from my old 10/22 and polished and fitted it. VQ trigger group and extractor, Cadwell bipod and Vism scope. Of course the Hogue stock.

Phone them. Pretty sure you can order one now if you call them.

I built myself pretty much an exact replica of the DAR22 off from Joe at DLASK, VERY VERY happy with it!
