Take the sharp end of the pick in your cleaning kit and compress the extractor detent until it clears the extractor. This takes two hands so use your thir.... tip the bolt over and wiggle it to get the extractor to fall out. If it doesn't go, yell at it until it does. Then release the pressure on the detent and remove it along with the spring. The firing pin will now fall out the back of the bolt. Reassembly is the reverse except you yell at the extractor AND detent at the same time.

Nope. Mine doesn't fall out. It seems that the angle of the opening in the rear of that carrier has such an angle that the pin hits the sides of that internal wall. Mine just will not come completely out. I've tried for hours, rotating the pin in every which way....no joy. It always hits the internal wall and will not come out.

The extractor....heck that's easy. Taking the pin out of the carrier....impossible.

I've asked this before in the VZ thread. No one answered. Anyone here want to enlighten me as to how to get it completely out of the carrier?

BTW, that video is ridiculous. The parts on mine are so tight. The parts on that video look like they're a million years old and loose as hell.

was that my outside voice?

6MT I think you may have either an out of spec part(s) or a slightly modified design of the original. The firing pins in all my CZs and VZs always fell out the back once the extractor was removed. Have you tried drifting it out through the firing pin hole? Some pics my help. There are plenty of VZ mfr's so its possible you got a civvi variation of some sort but that's just a guess on my part.

It does fall almost out. Then it hits the wall of the carrier. At first I thought that it was rotated incorrectly. But I have tried every permutation and combination of rotational angles. It just will not come completely out of the carrier. I have tried drifting it out with a very small punch. Again, The pin hits the wall at every angle I've tried. I don't really want to force it too much.

I clean the face of the carrier, the extracter, and the rest of the carrier. The pin gets put back into its hole and I put the extractor back together. Shake it to make sure the pin floats freely... Then reinstall the block assembly. But one of these days, I would like to completely remove the pin for inspection and complete cleaning.

I just haven't figured out how yet.
