So, without annoying the collective membership of this forum, where would I go to find the value of large collection of oddball ammunition? Mostly individual rounds, but a few boxes. Pinfire, large calibre rimfire and all manner of straight sided cartridges. I've already been looking on face book. Any leads or Canadian websites would be appreciated.

With photos, you would get your answers and possible buyers right on this site.

No such database exists. Price can vary due to condition, scarcity, color markings, headstamp variations, and other factors.

The IAA journal features on going valuations for rounds, but the pricing is very subjective, and not always pertinent to the Canadian market. If you arent able to attend a good gun show or cartridge show to see what prices are like, then realistically public solicitation, or dealing with a reputable dealer of collector cartridges is about it. You can go online and look for cartridge auction catalogs, as well as pricing on cartridges for sale on some of the collector cartridges websites, if you enjoy surfing the net for hours, and remember that the US market and Canadian arent the same, but still it will serve as a guide.

Will do, I'm picking the whole lot up this week, and I'll find out what everything is. And then I'll make a huge post in the ee

Rather than making an EE post (where none of us will be able to comment) make the post right here in ammo - or in Black powder and antiques if that seems more appropriate to you. After we have all had a chance to see and evaluate what you have, you will be ready to put them up for sale in the EE if you want.:d

This would be a better idea if you want some input on the value first.
