how to clean the chamber on a bolt gun???

You can also use a .410 bronze brush if even you got build ups.
Also, even if you use a chamber/bore guide while cleaning up the bore, you should always mop the chamber to wipe it out from any solvent / oil.

Ha, I do the .410 brush thing too! I prefer the plastic brush over the copper one, then 410 bore mop. Tried to find chamber brushes for my rifles, but basically can't get them. Funny we're all doing the same thing!

i use a 45-70 rifle brush -the way to do it is get out your reloading manual, look at the dimensional drawing of your case- ie the distance between the walls- and then go up a few thou- ie for a 30 cal, you use something on the order of a 45 , a 223 takes about a 9mm,- most bottleneck cases have a straight sided "version"-then you can either use the plunge method like they do in the ar's or a rachet type like they do in the m14s- for some of the heavy magnums, you may have to go to a shotgun brush

The 410 gear works well for the chamber, but it doesn't get at the locking lug recesses. Sinclair Intl make a moderately priced tool to do that.

It's worth the cash. It amazes me how many guys argue over bore solvents and whether Hoppes #9 smells better than G96, but from one decade to the next they never clean their actions. Especially with stainless, any grit or even a lack of lube can quite easily gall your locking lugs.

I couldn't find anything locally either and it was before I was a member here I got all my action and chamber cleaning tools and mops ect from sinclair intl fast shipping and resonable price but now that I am a member here I imagine there is some sponser who sells the same stuff I will use next time hopefully
