How to cool the barrel down fast?

I was doing rapid fire with SKS today. The barrel was really hot after 40 rounds. Any suggestion on barrel cooling? (without using of water?)

Urine works well, straight down the bore.

Most test facilities use compressed air down the bore.

I find about the fastest is to keep the action open and put it on the rack with the muzzle pointing up. In the shade if possible

Michealsabre, what is the longest distance, and the smallest target, you have hit with your SKS from the bench?

I have a D&T scope on my SKS. I can hit 200 yard 8" gong with it.

i heard someone suggest a small cooler with a small battery operated aquarium air pump and some ice

place the air pump in the cooler and then take some airline tubing and put it down the barrel.

pumps cold air into it between shots

kill two birds with one stone..... pour some windex down the barrel so now you dont need to worry about corrosive ammo rusting your barrel (ofcos run a cloth after) ....
