How to find the age and value of old marlin

A relative has asked me to find out about a very old Marlin lever he has. Does anyone have any manuals or books they can look into to find out? I have the serial number and all the info stamped on the barrel.

It seems the rifle was made in 1884. I don't know the value but I'm sure my relative will be pleased to have a rifle that old
