I live in the NWT. Took a Hunter Safety course years ago in Ontario (don't have my old license/plastic card thingy).

Here, you go on down to ENR or the hardware store and get your small game license and any big game tags you want/need...pretty darn simple and cheap.

What happens if/when I move from here and try to get a hunting license elsewhere...Will I have to jump through the hoops again (I'm getting too old for that crap).

Chime in on your provincial requirements for 'not so new hunters' from other jurisdictions....Thanks!

In Alberta just proof of a previous license. I just showed them my PEI hunting and trapping licenses when I moved and was good to go for both of the same here.

Pretty sure the same rule is standard across the country with differing residence requirements depending on the province you go to.

A licence from another jurisdiction will get you a non-resident Ontario licence. You must have proof of successful completion of the Ontario hunter education course to get an Ontario resident licence. If you have a PA/OL you just need to do the hunting portion, and not the firearm handling part. I went through the process this past year.
