How to get someone to shoot your bear?

I'd be willing to hunt the bear rifle or bow. I'm not local but I'd be willing to drive the 6 or so hours

why not just leave the friggin bear alone?
the bear had to be searched out...
the bear was up a tree...that means it was a smaller bear and went up the tree for safety...the bear looker scared it!
Doesn't sound like any kind of problem other than a lack of understanding on the part of the humans involved.
The last thing you want is a bait set up to attract the bears in the area and habituate them to hanging around looking for unnatural food sources...like picnics...

Better that you educate yourself and the property owners on the facts about black bears and that they are generally non violent creatures that would just as soon have nothing to do with people...

The OP is looking for a solution to a bear problem...an imagined bear problem from the sounds of it.
Chances are good that "hunting" that little bear will attract bigger bears and make the problem worse rather than better.

I've taken my share of bears...

I just prefer the great big ones over the dinkers that tree when they hear something coming

Contact your municipality Forestry department and ask if they can recommend a trapper to take of your problem. It will be done quickly and professionally. Your friends will not have to worry about property damage.

OP you have just gotten offers from several hunters ready and willing to hunt the property in question.

I'd say your best bet is tell the property owner to sign up on CGN and tell him to check out this thread.

Or I can PM you my info and you can pass it on to him.

Me and a few CGNers would be sure to post a thread about the hunt.

I live in bear-infested Central Ontario. A lot of the locals, fed up with the inactivity of the MNR, have subscribed to the SSS programme.

HUSH HUSH!!! The folks in Toronto think the bears are safe now that they cancelled the spring hunt.

why shoot the damn bear if it has not done anything yet. Stay in the city if you dont want to see animals in their natural state.
