how to get the stripper clip guide off

well im just trying to get the stripper clip guide off and am not sure if its a weld

I asume you mean for the M14. The roll pin is removed then the guide is driven off.

yeh its an M14 you mean punch it out

Remove the roll pin with a hammer and punch, then use a hammer and punch to remove the stripper clip guide...

found it easy to tap out the roll pin out when i worked from the inside of receiver out.

Mine was a ##### to get off. Drive the roll pin out, easy. But that sonofa##### guide was really in there good. I couldn't get a good solid way to support it in the shop press, so I resorted to clamping the guide in a vise and hammering the action off of it with an 8lb hammer and a block of brass. I ended up basically destroying the guide - it has some pretty extensive damage to the finish and marks from the vise - but the action hasn't a mark on it and that's all I care about

Guide goes out from op-rod side to scope mount side.....which way did you do it???

Yes, I saw that - one end appeared crimped... I drove it out the other end
