I have a lever action rifle, looks to be around a .44 cal. Has absolutely no id on it. It looks identical to an original "yellow boy 1866" pin sets, screw placement, it even has the original horse ring on it. But im no gun expert and would like to find out if its real or not.

Check the serial.number

One quick way is check the firing pin. ALL 1866s were chambered in 44 Henry rimfire. Should be a double-headed firing pin (2 strikers for reliability)

And you can search Winchester serial numbers to get a date on it. They were made all the way up until around 1900
