Not even. Arrive at CBSA, fill out the declaration, pass it to them, pay tax then go pick up the guns at the cargo terminal. What does the import myself process look like? Download a form, submit the paperwork and pay for it?
The question is really "how does the seller export it from the UK?". All of the paperwork and permits required are at that end of the process. There appear to be a small number of UK freight agents that will take this on and they appear able to charge ridiculous amounts for what appears to be very little actual effort. The last two I brought over the "agent" at least processed them very quickly. A previous import took nearly 3 months from purchase. In both instances the agent would only ship by airfreight for personal pickup at the airport where you have to talk to Canadian customs. There are, of course, no forms or permits at our end, the customs person only needs to be convinced the item is indeed a legal antique and you need to pay GST.Hello. How do I import a flintlock from the UK? What paperwork do I need to fill out and who are importers that handle these services?
Driving from the UK isn't an option.Isn’t it as simple as driving over the boarder with it (declaring it obviously and showing proof of status) as if it’s antique here it will also meet their more lax antique laws?
